Fleet Sign Shipp

Thurrock have signed Danny Shipp from neighbours Hornchurch.

Shipp, who goes straight in to the squad to face Eastbourne tomorrow, has also played for West Ham,  Coleraine (Ireland) and Dagenham & Redbridge where he is their record goalscorer.

Colin McBride Said "Danny is a strong forward that can hold the ball up well, something that we have been missing recently, he can also play in the midfield if necessary. I believe he will a great asset to Thurrock"

Now for the goings......

Cliff Akurang has left the club by mutual consent and signed for Heybridge Swift in the Ryman Premier League.

Cliff signed for Purfleet in December 2001 and made an immediate impact scoring 7 goals in his first 5 games. At the beginning of the 2003-04 season he moved out on to the right wing and was a revelation scoring over 30 goals, including a wonder goal against Luton Town in the FA Cup

David Lee has also left the club.

David, who was a short term signing whilst he was in between league clubs, has signed for Stevenage in the Conference National and is due to go on trial to Aldershot within the next week.

We wish both players the best of luck in the future.
