On a cold Tuesday night at Clarence Park we gave
second places St Albans City a
run for their money but still suffered a 3-2 defeat.
The
Saints took the lead as early as the third minute. Ben Walsh scoring with
a cracking 25 yard free kick. Why the kick was given no one in the crowd
seem to know. Just one of many strange decisions made by the referee.
City
doubled their lead just before half time when Ram Marwa scored flowing
from a Walsh corner. Simon Martin headed in a third from a Matt Hann free
kick to make it three and City seemed to be in control.
Kris
Lee reduced the deficit five minutes later before we were then reduced to
10 men when Steve Heffer was sent off following an incident with Tom
Davis, who surprisingly remained on the pitch.
We
upped our game and pulled another goal back through Lee but City just held
on for the win.
