Thurrock moved comfortably into the semi final in their defence of the Essex Senior Cup against a weakened Dagenham side.

          Fleet were quick out of the blocks and Lee Hodges had numerous shots close to scoring before Steve Heffer’s cushioned header sent him clear to slot in between the keeper’s legs three minutes before half time.

          The second half was a similar affair with Thurrock dominating throughout. Kris Lee went close with a shot from the edge of the area which was well tipped over. Dagenham went close with a free kick from 20 yards out after 70 minutes but a minute later went 2-0 up. Hodges beat a defender and swung a cross over for Tresor Kandol headed home from six yards. Kandol went close again with five minutes to go when he beat two players and shot from 20 yards but the game was already won.
