Thurrock took all three points and moved up to fourth after a comfortable victory at Ship Lane. The fist half was a little dull, with Thurrock debutant Glenn Poole having the only real effort on target. In first half injury time Thurrock were awarded a penalty when Lee Jarman handled Dave Collis’ cross. Lee Hodges stepped up to take the penalty but Ryan Northmore saved. The referee decided that Lewis Hogg had encroached and Hodges swapped place with Poole, who comfortably dispatched the penalty for a debut goal.

The second half was a little better with Thurrock creating the better chances although Luke Corbett was unlucky not to score ten minutes into the half.

Thurrock skipper Jimmy McFarlane popped up to head in from Dave Collis’ free kick to double the lead and Thurrock seemed to be home and dry until Jarman’s deflected free kick found its way into Billy McMahon’s net with twenty minutes to go. Weston piled on the pressure but failed to create any clear cut chance and with a minute to go Ryan Kirby’s long ball put Tresor Kandol through and he slotted home to finish the match in the 90th minute. Kandol then had another chance to make it four but he tried to chip Northmore with Kris Lee waiting for a tap in.
