Colin McBride named unchanged line up to the team that fought so well for the three points at Newport last Saturday, with Kris Lee leading the line. Thurrock attacked from the off, with Glenn Pole and Bertie Brayley combining well and causing the Redbridge defence all sorts of problems. Kris Lee picked up the ball and powered down the inside left channel before delivering a delightful cross only for Adam Parker to Blaze over from 15 yards. Then the wing backs combined, Collis delivering a fine ball that Davidson steered just wide of the Redbridge goal. Riley in the Redbridge goal then made a fine save from Parker. Poole and Brayley both shot narrowly wide when well placed as the Redbridge defence tried to cope with the pace and constant pressure of a confidant Thurrock side. Redbridge then broke away and nearly snatched an undeserved lead as a long punt from defence was picked up by Toney 40 yards out his run took him pass two Thurrock defenders before shooting wide of the post. The inevitable goal came after 28 minutes, Kris Lee was pulled down in the box and the referee had no choice but to give a penalty, Glenn Poole stepping up to plant the spot kick confidently pass Riley. Thurrock struggled to keep the momentum going, with Redbridge tightening up at the back and could not get the luxury of a second killer goal. With Thurrock in almost total control both Kris Lee and Poole both had chances in the second half but failed to convert.
