The first half was a quite affair with both sides playing a compact game and not looking to expose their defences. Billy McMahon made a good save after 17 minutes but excellent defending from the whole back four stopped Aldershot from making an impact. Ryan Kirby playing against his former side was winning every tackle in the middle of the park. The second half was brighter than the first with Kris Lee unlucky with a header five minutes into the half. After 56 minutes Thurrock took a deserved lead. Lee Hodges played the ball to David Lee, whose pass found Cliff Akurang. Akurang scuffed his shot straight into the path of David Lee who slotted home. A minute later the lead was nearly doubled, Hodges played a perfect through ball to Kris Lee whose shot was well saved by Glasspool. With twenty minutes to go Aldershot had their best chance but Billy McMahon parried the shot. Thurrock were well on top with Kris Lee working tirelessly up front to hold the ball up. Colin McBride brought on some fresh legs with Hodges and Kris Lee coming off for Martyn Lawrence and Fernando Manuel and Fleet comfortably saw out the game until full time. Man of the Match: Ryan Kirby Thurrock: McMahon, Collis, McFarlane©, Goddard, Goodfellow, Kirby, Heffer, Hodges (Lawrence 86), Akurang, D Lee, K Lee (Manuel 88)
