Margate 2 - 1 Thurrock
 Baptiste 28       Kandol 70
 Benevides 76

A poor performance by Fleet at Homelands saw them slip to 8th place in the Nationwide South. A dull first half was only livened up by Rocky Baptiste’s 25 yard wonder goal for the hosts. Jimmy McFarlane had a header well saved by the Margate keeper.

Thurrock started the second half no better and the ball was not sticking up front, with TK looking out of sorts. After twenty minutes Goddard blocked a poor goalkeeping clearance and squared to TK whose side footed effort was easy saved when he should have done better. Thurrock equalised on 70 minutes, Goddard used his strength in the box and put in a cross over his own shoulder which TK scored at the second attempt. The tails were up and Johnny Buffong was unlucky not to score after beating one and seeing his shot deflected behind for a corner. From the resulting McFarlane managed to win another header, but it went harmlessly into the keeper’s arms. Thurrock were dealt a sucker punch on 76 minutes. Collis was caught dallying on the ball and Margate broke away. Benevides finished the move with a low shot past Billy McMahon. The match ended with a flourish with both keepers making excellent saves. Martyn Lawrence was unlucky when the keeper saved with an outstretched foot and McMahon tipped wide at the other end.
