Thurrock's game against local rivals East
Thurrock United was a dull affair for both sets of fans. East Thurrock nearly
scored in the 1st minute when a One-on-one chance went over Paul Gothard's bar.
Thurrock's best player, Dwayne Plummer
nearly scored after 6 minutes when flicking past the East Thurrock keeper which
narrowly slid past the post. Plummer did score ten minutes later, dispatching a
penalty coolly after a foul in the box. The rest of the half was a played out
without many chances falling to either side.
The second half was even worse after the usual 7 or 8 changes by both sides.
East Thurrock equalised after 58 minutes with a header from 3 yards after
an excellent corner was put across, they then had a goal disallowed after 70
minutes for a foul in the penalty area. Other than that most of the action was
in the middle third of the match with chances at a premium.
