Match photo's Colin McBride gave a debut to Danny Shipp, who signed from Hornchurch on Thursday, and Steve Heffer came back into the side after suspension with Simon Martin dropping to the subs bench and Tresor Kandol missing through injury. Eastbourne immediately went on the attack and Woodman was called into action early on making a good save plus a couple of long range efforts. Danny Shipp, looking isolated up front found some space after a quarter of an hour but shot well wide. On 21 minutes Eastbourne scored their first, Odubade slotting home. Five minutes later the lead was doubled after Thurrock failed to clear a corner properly Matt Crabb's long range effort took a wicked deflection to deceive Woodman and finish in the back of the net. A bad day was made worst when after 29 minutes Mark Goodfellow was sent off for a two footed tackle. McBride reorganised with Lee Hodges sacrificed, being replaced by Craig Davidson - making his first start since August. On 45 minutes Eastbourne got their third, Odubade again beating Woodman in the Thurrock goal. Soon after the restart Odubade got his hat-trick, a long ball from the Eastbourne defence was picked by Odubade in an offside position just over the half way line, Woodman came rushing out of his goal and managed the clear the initial effort, which cannoned off of the Eastbourne forward and bounced into an empty net. Simon Martin and Johnny Buffong replaced Adam Parker and Ryan Kirby, and we enjoyed and more productive spell with out really threatening the Eastbourne defence.
