| Bromley | 1 | - | 1 | Thurrock FC |
| Huggins 90 | Linger 65 |
An injury time goal denied Fleet victory. This was a keenly fought contest so much so that both sides ended the day with 10 men on the field.
The game was a fast flowing, end to end affair, which really was fitting to this great competition.
Kris Lee, Cliff Akurang both went close on more than one occasion the best effort being a Steve Heffer header that crashed against the home side’s crossbar. Bromley defender Potterill was shown a red card in the 26th minute after lashing out at Dave Collis.
Fleets Paul Gothard made two outstanding saves to deny the noisy home fans something to cheer.
The second half was equally as gritty as the first as both teams went in search of a goal. The deadlock was finally broken when substitute Gary Howard beat a defender to get to the bye line and delivered a great cross which was headed home by Paul Linger at the far post. Fleet had a good appeal for a penalty waved away by referee Legg after Martyn Lawrence appeared to have been bought down in the box.
The game was still being played at a frantic pace and both keepers showed great alertness making important saves.
Dave Collis was dismissed for a second yellow offence.
In the final minute of a long spell of time added on Leroy Huggins crashed the ball home to set up a replay at the Hotel on Tuesday evening.
