Purfleet 0 Hitchin Town 1 After the great show by the lads is last Saturday's great comeback at Canvey, one could have been forgiven for thinking that this would be an easier game. As it turned out it was quite the opposite. This Division continues to see unexpected results and the pacesetters losing games you would expect them to win.It would be all to easy to blame the conditions, but it is the same for both sides and yes, it was a blustery, rainy evening but credit to both sides for putting on an entertaining game. It certainly was an end to end game but without much in the way of goalmouth incidents causing either keeper any great concerns. Both sides enjoyed some good movement and possession but the final ball was always either just too long or not long enough. The game was settled by a scrappy second half goal, which on most other occasions would have been dealt with but this was one of those nights and it wasn't to be. Colin introduced John Keeling into the action and it was a case of normal service being resumed. He was soon making those familiar darting runs of his that we grew used to during his previous spell with us.All in all a disappointing result especially coming so soon after the Canvey game but I'm sure the lad's will be ready to go again against Aylesbury at The Hotel this coming Saturday. They all really appreciate your support, so let's get behind them for this Saturday's home game with Aylesbury.
