Aylesbury 1 - 1 Purfleet

We have to go back to 9 November of last year for the last time we recorded an away victory. At Aylesbury we had to be content with a single
point following a 1-1 draw. On the overall ninety minutes play a share of the points was probably the fairest result.

Our first strike on goal came after five minutes when Lee Allen's free kick went through the Aylesbury wall but was saved by Lee Worgan. At the other end Alex O'Reilly was soon in action cutting out a dangerous cross from the right from Dwayne Plummer. Plummer was again in action when he played a ball out of defence to Julian Charles whose first time shot struck the cross bar before going for a goal kick. Following dead ball situations two headers came Jimmy McFarlane's way. The first was over the bar and the second was easily taken by Worgan.

The home side opened the scoring in 56th minute. A Plummer corner was headed against the bar by Marien Ifura, Ben Martin tucked the rebound in the left hand corner of the net. The lead was short lived as two minutes later we equalised. A Terry Bowes throw on found its way to Cliff Akurang who turned and drove the ball through a crowded goalmouth into the net. Both Charles and Kris Lee had shots well saved by the respective goalkeepers. After that the game petered away to a tame draw.
